National Cadet Corps (NCC) at The Orbis Schools

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India's premier youth development organisation, fostering discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the youth. It is a tri-services organisation encompassing the Army, Navy, and Air Force, grooming the country's youth into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The NCC provides a platform for young individuals to engage in various physical and academic activities that build character and skills, preparing them for future leadership roles, including potential careers in the armed forces.

At The Orbis School, Keshav Nagar, Pune, which is recognised among the top schools of Pune and a premier school offering CBSE academics, the NCC was sanctioned in September 2022, marking a significant milestone in the school's commitment to holistic education and student development. The school is associated with the prestigious 3 Maharashtra Air Squadron NCC, Pune. This association brings numerous opportunities for students to engage in activities that enhance their physical abilities, leadership qualities, and understanding of the Indian Armed Forces.

Mr. Wilson Shinde, appointed Associate NCC Officer by the NCC headquarters, Ministry of Defence, was commissioned as a Third Officer after training at the Airforce Station Tambaram. Under his guidance, the first batch of cadets from 2022 have completed their two-year training and will soon receive their 'A' certificates.

The NCC cadets at The Orbis School, Pune, one of the good schools of Pune with a strong focus on CBSE, have had the privilege of participating in the Independence Day and Republic Day parades held at the school. These events offer the cadets a platform to showcase their training and discipline. Additionally, the cadets visited the Airforce Station Lohegaon, where they were briefed about the Sukhoi-30 fighter jet. They witnessed sorties of these aircraft, providing them firsthand experience of the Indian Air Force's operational capabilities.

Moreover, the cadets had the unique opportunity to visit the esteemed National Defence Academy, where they experienced flying the microlight aircraft Virus SW 80. These visits are instrumental in broadening the cadets' horizons and inspiring them to consider careers in the armed forces.

The training program at The Orbis School includes a diverse curriculum covering physical training such as march past and firefighting, leadership development, and detailed studies related to the Air Force and flying principles. Cadets receive in-depth knowledge about the principles of flight and the workings of the Indian Armed Forces, preparing them for potential future roles within these services.

To further motivate cadets to join the Indian Armed Forces, the school conducts sessions on various entry schemes, providing detailed information and guidance. These initiatives aim to ignite the cadets' spirit of service and patriotism, encouraging them to pursue careers contributing to national security and development.

Thus, the NCC at The Orbis School plays a crucial role in shaping today's young minds into responsible and dedicated leaders of tomorrow, upholding the values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism while maintaining a strong focus on CBSE academics.
